This Fist is a short story collection that has a lot of absurd action, although there is some other stuff going on too. In various forms of my author bio I mention how my stories are intended to be (loving) “punches to the face,” and I think this collection embodies that well.
This Fist is an orange book. It was important for my third collection to be orange.
A few characters recur here. Gabe Gomez is back to have bad things happen to him both as a kid and an adult. Ben Gemmell is back to go through one of his trademark… incidents. Shricky Kukulski is back to be a nervous little shit.
These stories were not all written at around the same time, but they are simpatico with one another. By the way, I’m very pleased to have found the cover photo. The gorilla’s pose and expression tell you everything you need to know about what’s going on here.
